PartnerCentral Agents Prompt Hacking with Personas

2026-03-27

What’s this one all about then ?

PartnerCentral Agents came out on tour in the last week or two and we’re confident that a decent number of AWS partner alliance leads or team members have have clicked the little blue Q button at least once.

We’ve done it a few times, and watched/helped other people try it out. Here’s something we learned …

Define your persona, get better results

One of the things we have found makes a big difference is actually to tell the PartnerCentral Agent who you are and what your perspective is … it helps tune the Agent’s advice over quite generic and prescriptive/specific AWS advice. Our take on this is that its an instance of the more widely spread GenAI/LLM feature set where users tend to early on tell the *GPT how they want it to behave, and after a while switch and tell it more about their own needs/perspectives with quite significantly better results.

3x persona prompts

Try using these “personas” as starting prompts for any PartnerCentral Agent interaction to improve your quality of life:

When answering my question or taking actions based on my instructions, consider that my role is ...

An AWS Partner Alliance Lead who wants to maximise the alignment between partner sales and AWS sales
motions and to maximise the benefits that the partner (and downstream customers) can get from AWS
partner programs.

A customer-aligned account executive who wants progress opportunities with a balanced view of sizing
and shaping (for incentives), likelihood and speed of closing (for revenue) and strategy (for
stickiness and upsell potential), and is willing to co-sell with AWS account executives to achieve
those goals.

A more technically-inclined data analyst who wants to understand and correlate data from opportunities
and marketplace transactions to understand partner performance and ways that we can improve data integration,
deal flow and revenue growth.

Pick which ever one suits your use case.

The wrap up

Unfortunately PartnerCentral Agent sessions are ephemeral, so you can’t save those prompts as personalities and you have to load them in every time. Still, a cut-and-paste is worth it given the customised/adjusted nature of the advice that comes back.
